Shutter Types
We have the largest selection of shutter styles in the market and can also accommodate custom jobs. Contact us and a consultant will be happy to discuss all your options.
Every style falls under one of four main shutter types:
- Center Tilt Rod (CTR)
- Hidden Tilt Bar (HTB)
- Invisible Tilt (IT)
- Magnolia Advanced Plus (MAP)
Please refer to our shutters glossary if you are unfamiliar with some of the terminology below.
CENTER TILT ROD (CTR)
This is the traditional plantation shutter. It features a center tilt rod that connects to all the louvers; to adjust the louvers, you simply manipulate the rod. CTR shutters are a classic, high-quality yet economical choice.
HIDDEN TILT BAR (HTB)
An upgrade from the traditional CTR, the HTB (also called a “clearview shutter”) features a tilt rod that is hidden on the backside of the panel rather than running down the center of the shutter. This gives you a more unobstructed view out your window. No center rod means no mouse hole is required, adding to the streamlined look.
In our experience, HTB shutters require less maintenance than CTR because there is no bar for a child or a pet to grab.
INVISIBLE TILT( IT)
By integrating the rack and pinion tilting mechanism right into the stile, we’ve created a shutter that tilts like magic — no rods, no mouse holes, just a clean and contemporary look. We call this the “Ferrari” of shutters. We are the only company in Texas offering the high-tech IT shutter.
MAGNOLIA ADVANCED PLUS ( MAP)
Our patented MAP shutters have an elegant, asymmetric louver that blocks light like nothing else. Aside from being visually pleasing, the movement is ultra smooth thanks to magnetized components. We call this beautiful design the “Lamborghini” of shutters. We are the only company in the world that is authorized to design and build this shutter.
